Skin Cancer and Elder Care in Hermosa Beach

Even in the winter, we need to protect our skin from harmful UV rays to prevent cancer.  It's important to use sunscreen on the exposed portions of our bodies, like our faces and hands, when out in the winter sun.  Just like you protect yourself from the cold, you need to protect your eyes from damaging sunlight.  On overcast days and bright sunny California days, your eyes are subjected to unsafe amounts of UV rays which can increase the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration, leading to permanent vision loss.

The American Cancer Society has several tips to reduce your risk of skin cancer under the topic "How Do I Protect Myself from UV Rays?" you can even test your cancer knowledge by taking their Sun Safety Quiz.

If you or someone you love needs in home elder care or is battling cancer and needs a Caregiver, Nurse Aide or Hospice Caregiver, A-1 Home Care Agency can help.  We are a Licensed, Bonded and Insured home care agency serving seniors and elderly in Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes, Manhattan Beach and other South Bay cities.  Visit http://www.hermosabeachinhomecare.com/ or call 310-366-7964 today!
