Planning for your future/ Elder Law & Conservatorship

What is a conservatorship?

A person can require a conservator when he/she is determined to be incapable of making their own legal decisions. This happens frequently in the case of deteriorating conditions such as Alzheimer, having a stroke and being unable to communicate, or having special needs.

An elder losing ability to make cognizant decisions must find a certified elder law attorney to make future arrangement that protect his/ her interests. A conservator is someone appointed by a judge who takes charge of daily health and living requirements of the conservatoree. This can include legal decisions.
